Roberta Donnay
Jazz Recording & Touring artist and Washington D.C. native, Roberta Donnay is currently a bandleader of The Prohibition Mob Band, a vintage jazz and swing band that employs 1920-30s swing, blues, and roots music in the jazz tradition.  

Her influences include Billie Holiday, Fats Waller, Louis Armstrong, Stevie Wonder, Laura Nyro, and others.  As a songwriter, Donnayís songs have placed in films and television. In 1994,  Donnay wrote ìOne Worldî which became a theme for the United Nations 50th Anniversary and won an ASCAP Composers Award.  

Donnayís interest in roots jazz music was inspired by singing with Dick Oxtotís Golden Age Jazz Band, recording with legendary
 jazz producer Orrin Keepnews, researching lost and obscure material from the Jazz Age, and as singer/percussionist with Dan Hicks And The Hot Licks.

As a performer, Donnay has opened for, or performed with, Ernestine Anderson, Bob Dorough, Herbie Hancock, Joe Sample, Christian McBride, Lewis Nash, Dr. John, Diana Krall, George Benson, David Sanborn, Leon Russell, Bonnie Raitt, David Grisman, Bruce Foreman, Rickie Lee Jones, Big Walter Horton, John Hammond, Lee Ritenour, Booker T., Tuck & Patti.

 
DENNY BERTHIAUME,
piano, grew up outside Washington D.C. and Chicago.  He is the only non-California native in the group although San Francisco is his home.  He has performed with Bobby McFerrin, Diane Schuur, Joe Williams, Ed Thigpen, Stan Getz, k.d.lang, and Joan Rivers. He recorded 4 albums as co-leader of the successful fusion group Solar Plexus.  He has appeared at jazz festivals in Monterey, the Russian River, San Jose, and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.  He was professor in literature and music at Foothill College in Los Altos, California (1970-2004) and a published playwright.
