Bell Stage Main Dining Room
Pianist Mike Nourie and The Swingmasons are pleased to team up with vocalists Jerica Cristosomo and Lucy Gamboa for a dinner-jazz performance. The Swingmasons will be performing an assortment of vocal favorites and standards from the American Jazz songbook, along with several Swingmasons originals.
The Swingmasons is a Jazz collective initiated by jazz pianist Mike Nourie in 2014 comprised of talented ambitious working musicians in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our musicians are trained to perfection and share a common desire for technical virtuosity in their personal performance and improvisation.
We initiate our recital by referencing a foundation of standard musical forms handed down to us from previous generations of jazz composers including Duke Ellington, Eubie Blake, Count Basie, Freddie Hubbard, Sonny Rollins, Wes Montgomery, Charlie Parker, George Gershwin, and Bill Evans.
Improvisation satisfies the musical and emotional cravings of our listeners as we strive to achieve a free state-of-mind in order to deliver new and wonderful musical abstractions over existing themes.
We encourage all musicians to exceed expectations while staying in harmony with the performance -- preserving individuality while being a part of the whole.
Jerica Crisostomo is a bay area-native vocalist who finds her inspiration in the arts and her family foundation. She has studied music theory and electronic music at the College of San Mateo, and performs at several venues in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Lucy Ariana Gamboa
Lucy graduated in 2005 from Columbia College in Chicago, IL majoring in Jazz Studies and Vocal Performance. She plays and sings regularly in the Chicago Area, and will be performing and sharing her music in the Bay Area over the next few weeks and months.
